What is a Download Tour? Download tours are digital recordings that you can download and listen to, on your computer or MP3 player. You can download some right here! Choose from the selection in the left hand menu. What are the benefits? One way in which cultural sites are changing the way in which they communicate with the public is by providing these recordings online. This new process allows cultural sites to reach wider and more diverse audiences than ever before. Institutions that already offer downloadable audio tours have discovered that the majority of people downloading these tours are "armchair visitors", for whom the sites are not readily accessible. Download tours are available in a range of languages and on a wide range of subjects; from interviews with, and interpretive guides on a specific work of art or people, through to full-blown city tours.
